Tobyrich Vegas: Gaming Drones for Dogfights, Races & Stunts

Gaming drones combine the fun of computer games with regular drones which are controlled by a smartphone app. Sensors on the drone and the phone, along with the internet give a real-time picture of the situation. Our fleet of drones is equipped with GPS, 4G/LTE, a 9-axes sensor, Bluetooth Smart technology, an HD camera and many other features! Based on the exact position and movement of the drone and phone, you will be able to explore amazing games such as Dogfights, Air Races and Stunts.

It is bizarre that all drones today are always quadcopters and never planes. They usually offer a very short flight time yet people are willing to pay high prices. Unlike these traditional drone designs, planes (fixed-wing aircraft) are aerodynamically more efficient: They offer longer flight times, better payload capabilities and with the help of sensors and powerful electric motors, they can even hover on the spot. Our gaming drones are small, durable and agile: perfect for indoor and outdoor flying.

Races.E-sports.Dogfights (RED), our app for iOS and Android devices opens up a universe of gaming modes, flight analytics and its own community where you can share flight performances with others and challenge them for air-to-air combats.

Literally, ready to take off right out of the box! Choose your level of flight proficiency from beginner to expert. Enable the auto pilot for maximum support. Make use of the tutorial in our app which offers a step-by-step guide on how to fly!

Our drones are designed to operate in different conditions whether you have a large garden or dwell in an urban city with limited space to spare. Fly in various hover modes for smooth cruising through small indoor locations such as offices or living rooms.

It’s all about sensors, math, algorithms and powerful smartphones. Don’t worry, we already took care of that for you! All you need to do now is to formulate a strategy for your next dogfight.

Multiplayer Dogfights

Become a real fighter pilot, challenge your friends! Of course, all weapons are purely virtual!
The choice is yours: become a fighter pilot or become an anti-aircraft shooter on the ground.

Air-to-air dogfights – Challenge a friend or engage a hostile pilot for a dogfight!

Air-to-ground combats – Your friends don’t own one of our drones yet? No, problem! Ask them to download our gaming app tobyrich.red for FREE and they can join as anti-aircraft shooters!

You pair each other’s phones and you are set to go! Every game starts with a random allocation of weapons varying from rockets, bombs, electronic warfare, flares and armor. Each weapon has its own level of impact, range, speed or number of shots. Based on the distance to the other player you can select weapons and defense systems. Combine long range missiles with the effectiveness of electronic warfare to turn off the radar of the other player. The combination of the right weapons and defense strategy will be your way to victory.

Real pilots go to flight school before they go out for their first solo flight. So should you!

You first learn how to turn while your phone is controlling the altitude and the speed. A flight instructor guides you through the next steps. Don´t worry, the drone is auto stabilized the whole time. There is even an emergency button if you need a time out. The drone will start to circle above you during this time until you send the next command. In addition we provide Video-Tutorials and a Pilot Handbook.

Flight Planner

Capture a picture on a preset GPS location. Pre-program a flight path and send tobyrich.tokyo or tobyrich.guru to a location of your choice. Even if it loses the contact to your phone, the drone will continue its flight and return after completing the mission. As soon as it is back in range, it will automatically reconnect. If you chose the GURU edition – you can lean back and enjoy a scenic view through the 360° HD camera while it’s on autopilot mode.

We integrated: Bluetooth Smart, the GPS location of the phone and the drone, the data from the sensors onboard the plane and onboard the phone, real-time weather information, and if you chose the GURU edition, the data from the 4G/LTE network. Everything combined delivers the exact position of all players and their movements. Today’s powerful smartphones transform this big data stream seamlessly into a game.

    @creator,
    Hello. In regards to the guru, you might want to consider putting the camera on the bottom of the plane. Reason being , if you send it on a long mission via the rout planner, you are going to ha e to set the altitude high so it doesn’t hit anything. With the camera on top, what will your view be , the sky? Can you clarify specifically what can be seen and from what angle for each of the proposed cameras you intend to build?
    Thank You,
    Larry

    Sounds great, would of course be great if we’re able to spread it further to get more attention and unlock it already during the initial campaing…lets see if we backers can get local and techbmedias attention to this project and go viral :p

    How to land without a landing gear? Catch the plane in mid-flight?

    • Reply Activity Tracker Admin July 22, 2015 at 4:19 am

      @Wout: You can either catch it or simply let it sink to the ground. Pilots of our older model SmartPlane usually learn how to catch it in mid-flight after little practice.

    Can I add only joysticks? How can i do that?

    • Reply Activity Tracker Admin July 22, 2015 at 4:21 am

      @Gerônimo:
      – As a pilot you do not necessarily need to look at the screen. Your screen shows all kind of information like weapons, ammunition, health status etc. The whole targeting and shooting works via the distance your plane is away from the shooter or other plane. If you are in range, you can trigger the respective weapon.
      We are currently working on a demo video to explain the whole process in detail.
      – Joysticks can be added at the end of the campaign.
